What's the point of Ask.com if google can do the same thing?

My mom is a little behind when it comes to technology and she thinks that if you want to ask a question, you HAVE to go to Ask.com. The funny thing is, this was originally their trademark, and supposedly still is, but Google can do the exact same thing...so, what's so special about Ask?
