To heart attacks ever start off slow or will it be very painfull from the start?

i was just wondering i feel a little bit strange and am freaking out a little. i dont really feel any pain but tingling. but it is in my chest and in my left arm but its hard to tell if its really there or my imagination is playing tricks on me cause i know what the symptoms are.
